A Global Leader in Dump Trucks
Organized by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and the Shandong Automobile Industry Association,China(Liangshan) Special-Purpose Vehicle Exhibitionhas already gone through21 years, will be heldThe 22nd edition will be held in 2026.Recently,在at the 2026 High-Quality Development Conference for the Overseas Expansion of Special-Purpose Vehicles, the exhibition was officially announced.
As electrification, intelligent technology, and internationalization become the industry's defining themes, this exhibition, which began in a county in western Shandong, has grown into one of China's most influential platforms for the special-purpose vehicle industry. It has witnessed and driven every step forward in China's special-purpose vehicle industry, from catching up to running alongside global peers.
China's special-purpose vehicle industry is currently undergoing a profound period of adjustment. According to data from the Special-Purpose Vehicle Data Resource Database,In 2025, domestic sales of special vehicles (broadly defined, i.e. all special vehicles whose VIN begins with “5”, the same below) reached 1.1445 million units, up 4.74% year on year, showing a modest recovery. Meanwhile, new energy adoption has shifted from policy guidance to market demand, intelligent technology is moving quickly into commercial use, and global exports have become a new growth engine. These three trends are reshaping the industry.
The data confirms this shift. In 2025, sales of new energy special vehicles reached 371,600 units, up 13.48% year on year, with penetration rising to 32.46%. Level 4 autonomous driving is being deployed faster in closed scenarios such as ports and mines,Unmanned mining trucksand driverless sanitation vehicles are moving from concept to operation. Exports are equally strong: special vehicle exports reached 62,400 units in 2025, up 20% year on year. Driven by both new energy and intelligence, China’s special vehicle industry is entering the “deep waters” of globalization.
In this transformation of the special-purpose vehicle industry, Liangshan, Shandong, is a place that cannot be overlooked. FromStarting in 1982 with a few roadside farm machinery repair shops, Liangshan's special-purpose vehicle industry has weathered many challenges and grown into China's largest industrial cluster for special-purpose vehicles, integrating R&D, manufacturing, testing, sales, logistics and distribution, and used-vehicle trading.
After more than four decades of development, Liangshan has built a complete industrial chain, with annual production capacity of several hundred thousand vehicles. Special-purpose vehicles for road transport account for a significant share of the national market. The local parts supply system is becoming increasingly well established, and products are distributed nationwide and exported to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the Americas, andmore than 90 countries and regions. In recent years, Liangshan's industry has continued to move toward high-quality development, with output and output value rising steadily. Used-vehicle exports have also become a new growth highlight. Behind these milestones is the proactive shift of this small county in southwestern Shandong from a “manufacturing mindset” to a “market mindset.”
The Liangshan Special-Purpose Vehicle Exhibition is the most iconic showcase in this thriving industrial hub. SinceSince its inaugural edition in 2005, the exhibition has built up more than two decades of history. It has become the largest and most specialized event for the special-purpose vehicle industry in China, and is widely regarded as a barometer of the industry's direction.
The 22nd China (Liangshan) Special-Purpose Vehicle Exhibition in 2026 will be heldSeptember 17–19at the Liangshan International Convention and Exhibition Center. The total exhibition area will cover120,000 square meters, including 70,000 square meters for special vehicles and 50,000 square meters for parts. Exhibition scale and exhibitor numbers will both set new records. The show highlights high-end, intelligent and diverse industry trends and keeps pace with the market frontier, with five major highlights:
Highlight 1: Special vehicle export models take the stage, showingshowcasing the formidable strength of “Made in China” as it sets sail for global markets. Highlight 3: New energy keeps gaining momentum. Electric sanitation vehicles, new energy refrigerated trucks, hydrogen fuel cell transport vehicles and other innovative products will appear together, with green power becoming the new direction for the low-carbon transition of special vehicles.
Highlight Four: A powerful gathering of construction machinery. Heavyweights such as thousand-ton-class cranes and aerial work platforms will come together to showcase the formidable capabilities of China’s engineering equipment.
Highlight Five: Continued upgrades to support foreign trade. The expanded and more efficient export exhibition area will provide domestic and international buyers with professional, one-stop cross-border sourcing services, helping companies connect with the world and expand into overseas markets.
